Weekly Four: May 1, 2020
Four a week, every week. Four things that fascinated me, inspired me, or challenged me this week.
REFLECT
Your Only Goal is to Arrive
This article is an encouragement to anyone who is going through a global pandemic (oh, wait - that’s everyone). Here’s my favorite line: “[Since] much of [our] experience is out of our control, now is the time to make sure our expectations are realistic and achievable.” Read this, take a minute to breathe, and remember it’s okay to just focus on arriving.
WATCH
The Chosen
The most recent binge-worthy show on the Internet takes a familiar story and changes the perspective. The Chosen tells the story of Jesus through the eyes of the disciples, and it has brought these stories to life for me in a powerful way. If you know Jesus or want to know Him through a different perspective, watch this new series. Season one available on YouTube.
EAT
One Skillet Greek Meatballs with Lemon Butter Orzo and Whipped Feta
I’ve been trying lots of new recipes lately - this one was my favorite last week. Meatballs are simple and delicious comfort food, and the whipped feta is an incredible addition. I served this with a side salad to make it a little more green. Yum!
READ
Necessary Endings
I finished this book a few weeks ago during a season when a whole lot in my world was changing - and many of the changes were out of my control (sound familiar?). This book helped me process some of the endings in life that I’ve experienced (both ones that happened to me and ones I’ve initiated) and it helped catapult me into the next season while ending the last one well. I highly recommend you read this book - Dr. Cloud is brilliant!
